    About EDGE Programme

    Repositioning the local church for maximum impact underlines the need to empower members with knowledge and understanding in all aspects of their lives.

    The Genesis

    Leadership under Apostle Prof. Joseph Ignatius Teye Buertey established PIWC-EDGE in 2023 with a seed fund of GHS 50,000.00.

    The Foundation

    Currently, an initial committee developed a policy document to delineate the objectives and commitments of the EDGE programme.

    The Endorsement

    Endorsed by Resident Minister Pastor Emmanuel Yirebi, who constituted EMAC to oversee the programme.

    Responsibilities

    EMAC Mandate

    To ensure effective administration and management of programme/funds.

    To review and evaluate grant applications.

    To provide financial and business advisory to beneficiaries/grantee.

    To submit at least (2) reports in a year to Presbytery/Executive.

    To organize annual business and entrepreneurship summits for the church.

    To organize annual business pitch to select best business ideas for funding.

    To create a network of potential angel financiers within and without the church fraternity to support the youth with budding ideas.

    To connect would-be entrepreneurs with promising ideas to potential angels.

    To co-opt members of PIWC to assist the work of the committee.

    Promote integrity, accountability, transparency and sustainability.

    The primary beneficiary targets for this programme/fund include individual members of PIWC-Asokwa who seek to start up or grow their business in order to create sustainable jobs, increase productivity and create wealth in the formal and informal sectors.

    Requirements

    Eligibility Criteria

    3+ Years Membership

    Active member of PIWC-Asokwa for at least three (3) years.

    Business Focus

    Have a budding business idea or an existing start-up needing scaling.

    Endorsements Required

    Endorsed by: Cell leader, Family head, and Ministry leader.

    Driven Mindset

    Must have an undeniable passion to succeed.

    ID Verification

    Provide PIWC Asokwa Membership number/ID.

    Local Residency

    Resident in Kumasi (not a distant member).

    Age Requirement

    Must be 18 years of age and above.

    Guarantors Needed

    Should have two (2) verified guarantors.

    To be considered for the EDGE Programme funding, applicants must meet all the above criteria.

    Process

    Call for Applications

    The EDGE Programme runs on an annual cycle. These are the six stages, from launch to disbursement.

    1. Step 1

      Annual Call Launch

      One call for proposals is issued each year, officially launched at the end of November.

    2. Step 2

      Accessing Forms & Information

      The call is announced through church and social media channels. Application forms are available at the Secretariat or on this website.

    3. Step 3

      Information Session Workshops

      Two workshops (ISWS) are organised each cycle. Attending at least one is a prerequisite for a valid application.

      Submission Window

      Applicants have one clear month to complete and submit their forms to the Secretariat.

    5. Step 5

      Assessment & Decision

      EMAC assesses every submission and interviews all applicants. The final funding decision rests with the Presbytery.

    6. Step 6

      Approval & Disbursement

      Successful applicants are notified, sign a grant contract, and receive funds to begin their projects.
